Our Mission Statement
The mission of Sunflower Preschool is to provide a child-centered educational community that provides development of the whole child. Teachers and parents work together to foster creativity, independence, joy of learning, personal responsibility and self-esteem, as well as early learning knowledge and skills.
— Sunflower Teaching Staff
As parents of two young boys, we faced great challenges in finding a preschool that offered a quality program, taught by experienced staff in a country setting. In 2002, with a great deal of support from other West County parents and teachers, we were fortunate enough to find a facility that met our criteria. Now, Sunflower Preschool is firmly planted and thriving with each new school year with a quality program, taught by experienced staff in a country setting.
— Tom & Kimberly Ambrosino, Owners
Sunflower Preschool endeavors to provide a nurturing, comfortable, fun, clean and safe environment in which children ages 3 – 5 can grow physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. Our well-educated, experienced teachers strive to make each day as meaningful as possible. Developmentally appropriate learning activities are designed to stimulate creativity, invite exploration and discover, and promote self-esteem. Young children learn through play. There will be informal and formal times of learning. Teachers consider each child’s individual needs. Parents are encouraged to utilize their talents at Sunflower Preschool. Together we can create positive experiences for the growth and development of the children.
